Uganda - Child Soldiers

Tremendous results in Uganda, I'll be posting over the next few days...men's movement having dramatic effect.

Deeply moving trip to Gulu in Northern Uganda, 12 hours of grueling travel by Land Rover -

I met two young men - tragic victims - abducted and forced to be child soldiers for the insurgents in Darfur and Northern Uganda - One young man is typical story - he was 12 years old, at his school of 100 students, surrounded by 300 rebel soldiers, 30 children were killed on the spot, then 20 taken one direction, while he and 50 others were taken to Southern Sudan - severely beaten, watching friends killed in front of them, unspeakable horrors...he became in charge of a radio team, he was subjected to repeated brutalities until he escaped after 6 years of hell...
TODAY, he is being trained at Alex Mitala's school in Gulu, and on his way to wholeness and health...it will be a long road, as I talked to him, it was difficult for him to look me in the eyes, he had nerve damage in his face, he is pushing through by the grace of God - Praise God!

He did look at me near the end of our conversation and said, "At least now, I have hope."

This is what it's about - Uganda is a nation in need of fathers, the spirit of love and acceptance - and it is a nation that is in healing - a vibrant church life, christian tv, the men's movement...but, a long road to health.

More soon...keep in prayer.

will post photos when I get to faster internet location -
